One of the best candle fragrances ever!
Admittedly this is the first Glasshouse candle I have purchased and lit. But I have smelled every single one unlit in stores, and this one by far has my favourite fragrance of all! It doesn't smell very strong when unlit, but when I took it home and used it for the first time, I was very please at how well the fragrance filled the room. If you like woodier fragrances give this one a go. It features petitgrain, so if you are a fan of Aesop's Reverance Aromatique products (featuring petitigran and vetiver root) you will love The Hamptons for sure!
SULTRY SUMMER NIGHTS AT THE BEACH
I highly recommend this new fragrance for its deliverance of sensuous smell and the ability to take you to the Hamptons. It has a lot of similarities to my fave Sistine Chapel. The woodiness is amazing which I believe is the petitgrain showing through. My favourite thing about this product is:
ITS SIMILIARITY IN TAKING ME TO ANOTHER WORLD AS DOES SISTINE CHAPELYes, I'd happily recommend this product
Take me there
The scent takes time to get going and I felt a little let down as I am used to the boisterous, robust fragrances of the candles I love (Positano being one of them - don't ever discontinue this one!). It is fresh and elegant but wouldn't hoard it as an all time favourite -that honour goes to the sadly limited edition only Cyprus. My favourite thing about this product is:
Elegant fragranceYes, I'd happily recommend this product
RODEO DRIVE 2.0
As soon as you lift the lid from the jar and take a whiff there is no DOUBT The Hamptons is a weaker version of the old Glasshouse Rodeo Drive. Undeniable!!! Now there are pros and cons to this... Con and no pun intended (or is it). Anticlimactic. A new destination bringing with it excitement and anticipation only to be disappointed with a familiar scent. Whaaa...(looking around). This is nothing new here guys. You scratched 8 fragrances to bring back an oldie? OK fine, sure I understand. I actually expected that (but I won’t forgive you for taking away Santorini). Nope. Pro, because it's a weaker Rodeo Drive and it will be more tolerable. Personally the neroli in Rodeo Drive gave me breathing difficulties and was a health hazard to me. It's a heavy masculine scent. Now a lot of people that didn't come across Rodeo Drive back in the day will be wowed with The Hamptons. "Oh this is amazing, my new fave ra ra ra…" But a lot of people that are familiar with Rodeo Drive will be confused why Rodeo Drive has been rebranded. But then again might be happy to have the new weaker version. Or not. In conclusion The Hamptons is Rodeo Drive 2.0 and burning it for 2 hours is still not agreeing with my lungs *sigh* If I had to break it down a little bit further, on the nose and this is stretching it… The male Rodeo Drive and the female Marseille had a love child and named it The Hamptons. Incidentally I always said this about Rodeo Drive that is smells like old money. I’m glad they geographically got it correct this time. Because Rodeo Drive is nouveau riche and the Hamptons is where the old money is at. But for me...next.
Oh my god!
I have a collection of Glasshouse candles. I have purchased just about every candle in the destination range, past and present, and THIS candle is by far my favourite out of the standard range and limited editions. I bought two plus the diffuser and I still cannot get enough of it!!!!!! Well done, Glasshouse! My favourite thing about this product is:
