For the last 15 years, Glasshouse Fragrances’ A Tahaa Affair has been adorning homes the world over with its distinctive butterscotch, vanilla and caramel scent. A fan favourite since launch, it’s long been a bestseller. (Fun fact: Globally one A Tahaa Affair product is sold every minute.)
Over the years, we’ve been asked (okay, begged) to transform A Tahaa Affair into a wearable fine fragrance. And now, with the help of highly skilled French perfumer Dominique Bouley, we’ve done exactly that. Meet A Tahaa Affair Devotion Eau de Parfum, your new go-to gourmand. A reimagining of the iconic home scent, it delivers everything you love (rich butterscotch and caramel) and more (jasmine sambac and cedarwood).
The process of transforming a scent originally designed to diffuse through candle wax into a highly complex personal perfume was no mean feat. (Bouley says it was the most ambitious brief of her acclaimed career.) Known as ‘trickling up’, it involved elevating the initial fragrance profile to include clear top, middle and base notes. After many months of refining the composition, we arrived at A Tahaa Affair Devotion EDP.
The signature lusciousness of butterscotch and caramel has been lifted to new heights with the addition of precious ingredients that reference the fragrance’s namesake island. Think: Vanilla orchid, Tahitian foliage and sun-dried driftwood. The balance comes from splashes of coconut water and a sparkling sea accord – sheer white musk gives the impression of luminous sun-kissed skin. Crafted with a total of 20 notes, A Tahaa Affair Devotion is destined to become as beloved as its inspiration. Yep, there’s a new fragrance icon in town!
